A vintage 1940s rayon dress by Adele Simpson. The dress has silver metallic studs and star decorations in a pattern down each arm. The dress also has gathered draping at the waist and a tulip skirt. The dress fastens with a side metal zipper and zippers at the end of each sleeve. The purple fabric feels like rayon crepe.
Size: medium to large (fabric has some drape and give, which is why there's a small range of measurements that will work)
Bust: ~38-42"
Waist (at rest to fully stretched): ~29-32
Hip: will work for up to ~44"
Length: 54-55"
Shoulder (from seam to seam): 17-17.5"
Sleeve hem circumference (at wrist): 6"-snug 7" (sleeve zippers could be worn slightly open if you needed a little extra room at wrist)
Condition: Good. Three missing star decorations on one sleeve -- because they're not in the same location, this flaw isn't noticeable. Uneven color dye issues throughout that are noticeable (see flat lay photo). I'm not sure if the original dye is unstable or if it was dyed at some point in its history. I love this dress because I love imperfect pieces with special details, but the dye flaw is notable.
