A vintage knit set from the late 1930s to early 1940s. The top has a couple buttons at the front neckline and a small collar. It also has an open knit pattern on the lower bodice and sleeves. The skirt has a slight flare and an elastic waist, and has a wide ribbed knit. This set was hand knit and is quite substantial in weight, and the dark, forest green knit fabric feels like wool.
Size: small to medium
Top:
Bust: 36" at rest with comfortable stretch to ~40"
Waist: 29" at rest with full stretch to ~42"
Length: 24"
Sleeve length: 24" from shoulder to hem cuffed with another couple inches in cuff
Shoulder (from seam to seam): 15.5" (will stretch a few inches)
Skirt:
Waist: currently set at 28" (but elastic is adjustable--it's currently not set and has a safety pin, which means it could be adjusted smaller and will stretch larger)
Hip: 40" at rest with comfortable stretch to ~44"
Length: 28"
Condition: Very good. A few small knit irregularities/small repairs that don't jump out. Slight felting in underarms that wouldn't be noticeable when worn. A dark spot or two near hem of skirt that isn't noticeable because of dark green color of knit fabric. The set has been cleaned and presents beautifully.
