A vintage 1940s 3-piece playsuit set with a screen print design with sailfish, water, sunsets, and "Acupulco." The set consists of a halter top, shorts, and sleeveless jacket. The top has flexible neck and back ties. The shorts have a decorative front flap with a button (but no pocket) and fasten in the back with two buttons and a metal zipper. The jacket has cuffs at the shoulders with decorative ties. It also has a collar, button at the front neck, and patch pockets at the front waist on each side. The ivory fabric feels like rayon, or possibly a rayon blend.
Size: xxs to xs
Top:
Underbust: flexible because of tie back
Bust: approximately 5.5" across fullest part of cup (and best for a smaller cup size)
Length: flexible because of halter ties
Shorts:
Waist: 23"-snug 24"
Hip: 33-34"
Length: 12" (mid-leg)
Front rise: 11.25"
Back rise: 11.5"
Jacket:
Bust: approximately 40", but meant to be worn draped
Waist: open
Shoulder (from edge of shoulder to opposite edge): 16"-16.5"
Length: 21"
Condition: Very good. A couple faint marks on back shoulders of jacket--the most noticeable are hidden under the shoulder flap, but none of the marks are glaring. Some very slight age yellowing I couldn't get to show up in photographs (set has been cleaned). I replaced the button on the jacket--it's close but not an exact match to the buttons on the shorts. The screen print on the jacket is brighter than that on the shorts/top, likely because the top and shorts were worn more. This set presents beautifully.
