A vintage chemise from the early 1920s, possibly late 1910s. It has ribbonwork on the shoulder with dangling ribbons (the ribbons feel like silk). It also has dyed/painted flowers/leaves combined with embroidery. It has smocking at the underbust and lace trim at the neckline, armhole openings, and hem. The fabric is quite sheer, and is a yellow windowpane cotton.
Size: xs to medium
Bust: 39" at bust/underbust seam (13" from shoulder) -- I'm guessing this is best for a 36" bust or smaller since it needs drape
Waist: open
Hip: open
Length: 51"
Condition: Very good. A few stitches on the smocking are loose. Very slight uneven fade to yellow on fabric, and a very faint spot on front waist. This piece has been cleaned and spot treated (the spot lightened but didn't fully lift). None of the flaws are noticeable when this piece is worn -- it presents beautifully.
