A vintage Lanvin Castillo skirt (from the time period when Antonio Castillo was designing for Lanvin). I believe the skirt is from the late 1950s. The main fabric is a pinkish-red velvet, and it has cutwork with a black, ribbed backing fabric. The cutwork openings are surrounded by embroidery. This is a demi couture piece. The skirt fastens with hook and eyes on the waistband as well as a metal zipper.

Condition: Very good. Faint fade line a couple inches above the hem (see next to last photo)--I believe the skirt currently has its original hem and that it may have been hemmed shorter and then let back out during its history. This flaw is noticeable if you're looking for it, but it doesn't jump out at you because of its location and the detailing on the skirt. Also, the lining on the waistband is getting worn on the top edge in places, and there are some gaps where you can see the fabric underneath (see last photo). This would not be noticeable when worn and doesn't affect wearability of skirt.
