A vintage 1930s dress with devore velvet back bodice and sleeves. The front bodice is a draped panel with waist ties that tie in the back, creating an empire waist. The dress also has bishop sleeves, a collar, and a weight at the front neckline. The dress fastens with snaps at the wrist and snaps and hook and eyes on the side seam. The burgandy velvet fabric feels like silk velvet. There is also a crepe fabric that feels like silk crepe under the front velvet bodice panel.
Size: small to medium
Bust: 38" (best if wearer's bust is not right at max--meant to have a bit of drape)
Waist: 34" (will tie smaller)
Hip: 44"
Length: 51"
Condition: Very good to good. Scattered marks on the velvet fabric, common with older silk velvet dresses--for the most part, they get lost in the drape of the fabric, and they don't detract from the beauty of the dress. An unnoticeable cuff repair, and a few imperfect seam repairs. Also, while I have steamed and aired out this garment, I have not had it professionally cleaned because I don't have a professional cleaner I trust.
