A late 1930s, possibly early 1940s, piece with a gathered neckline. This appears to be a dress that was shortened at some point in its history--it could be worn as a mini-dress, tunic, or hemmed further to make a top. The yellow floral print fabric feels like a rayon or rayon blend. The piece fastens with side snaps.
Size: small to medium
Bust: 37"
Waist: 30"
Hip: 41"
Length: 34"
Condition: Very good. Slight unevenness to color. Some color bleed, mostly on the skirt and back bodice (see photos 6 and 7). A couple spots in underarm (see last photo). Because of their location, none of these flaws are glaring. The piece has been cleaned, but I haven't done any aggressive treatment on the color bleed or spots because I didn't want to cause fading or more severe color issues.
