A vintage 1940s pinafore romper. The top has tiny breast pockets, and is buttoned onto the bottoms--this means it can be separated from the bottoms, so that you can style the bottom half as shorts! (While the top could also be styled separately, it doesn't have its own fasteners.) The shorts fasten with side buttons and have a pocket on the seam opposite the button fasteners. The periwinkle blue fabric has white polka dots and I think it's a rayon/cotton blend (it resembles the drapey rayons you see in the 40s, but is a little stiffer than those fabrics).
