Victorian bodice . antique gingham jacket
An antique Victorian-era bodice with decorative buttons (it fastens with snaps up the front), a pointed peplum, sleeves that bell out and are open on top past the dropped shoulders and brown piping on the sleeves, neckline, front, and peplum. The jacket is lined, and the exterior fabric is a black and cream gingham and feels like a sturdy cotton.
Size: xs to small (the bodice is pictured on my 34-24-34 dress form and fits it pretty well even though it measures slightly larger)
Bust (measured on exterior): 38"
Waist (measured on exterior): 26"
Bodice length to waist: 16 1/2"
Length of bodice to bottom of peplum: 27"
The armscye is 12", but this is an upper arm (below the shoulder) measurement because of the dropped shoulders--i.e. the bodice measures 19 1/2" across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
Sleeve length (from shoulder seam): 19"
Condition: Very good. Second button from the top has a light spot. At the hem of the left sleeve, the fabric has come untucked from the edging in a couple places (not really noticeable). This bodice is super wearable and sturdy!
